Jacobin planned on insurrection of large number of Parisians who emerged by the short supplies and high prices of food.
On 10 August 1792, they stormed the palace of the Tuileries massacred king’s guards and hold the king himself as hostage for several hours.
Later the assembly voted for imprison the Royal Family.
Elections were held.
From now all men of 21 years and above regardless of wealth got right to vote.
On 21 September 1792, abolished the monarchy and declared France a Republic.
Louis XVI was sentenced to death by a court on the charge of treason.
On 21 January 1793, he was executed publicly at the Palace.
